Improve your Program using Evaluations

As a program or project manager, you took the time to carefully curate your team and ensure that it consisted of varied knowledge, skills, and abilities amongst your participants. You already know that the best teams are diverse teams. Then, the team did the work they needed to do.

So, what happens now? How do you know if the team you curated was truly successful?

Incorporating team evaluations in your processes could help you determine if your team was successful, as well as highlight areas that could use improvement. As a result, you’ll be continually improving your teams and those teams will naturally produce better results.

What are evaluations exactly?

Lineup Evaluations

In Lineup, Evaluations allow you to collect feedback anonymously about each team member’s performance. Since each team’s work can be drastically different, Lineup utilizes evaluations through the context of a particular team. This means that those members of a specific team are being evaluated. You can determine if you prefer one evaluator or if you’d like a 360 evaluation – everyone involved evaluates everyone on the team.

How can evaluations help my program?

Lineup offers customizable and flexible evaluations which allow you to collect exactly what YOU need. The responses you receive could shape and improve future teams. This is also a great way to ensure the participants are getting the value they deserve from your program. Finding that a participant may be struggling in a particular area gives you the opportunity to help them grow and excel. Evaluations allow their voices to be heard. Even the best leaders can find themselves missing a mark or can just use constructive criticism, so be open to having your members help create the best program possible. This also creates a formal close to the feedback loop.

Everyone wins.

What kinds of things can I evaluate on?

The beauty of Lineup is its only limitations are the limits of your imagination. We often see programs collect information on topics around collaboration, leadership, participation, and professionalism. Questions such as: Did the participant work well with others? How well did this person lead meetings?  Do you recommend this person for a leadership role? Did the committee member actively participate in meetings? Would you work with this person again?

What can I do with this data?

We know the saying: with great power comes great responsibility. Evaluations are no exception. You can use the insights you receive to mentor folks who need it or recognize folks for their efforts. Ultimately, we recommend using the feedback to curate even better future teams.

Evaluations are just one of the many tools within Lineup to help you create the best team and ultimately the best program you can!
